Are there any contracts signed between the WTS and its members?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini don't remember if i signed any papers stating that i would be a member of the jehovah's witnesses when i was baptized 30 years ago.
do elders, ministerial servants, pioneers,or bethel workers ever sign a contract stating what position they will hold?
if no contracts are ever signed, how can the wts enforce disfellowshipping of any of its members?

But I have been thinking that at some point in the not-too-distant future, some sort of signed "loyalty oath" might be a prerequisite for being appointed, or even continuing, as an elder.
sir82, for some reason I see that as a very very good possibility.

Adam had feminine qualities until Eve was created
by blondie in*** w56 9/1 p. 530 par.
16 the divine origin of marriage ***and jehovah god proceeded to build the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman and to bring her to the man.
" the man was overjoyed to receive and accept her at his heavenly fathers hand, and he named her to show she was part of himself.

Wow Blondie! You never cease to amaze me by finding all kinds of odd and strange quotes by the WTS.
This is a keeper for me. I'll bring it up when talking with the elders or MS that Adam was asexual until Jehovah helped him out. Just imagine the looks as their faces........in total doubt........and annoyance........with my comment......until I show them the article you quoted.
Good one!
Thanks Blondie for your contributions!

Some single older women in bad circumstances
by LongHairGal ini am saddened and angry to observe the pitiful situation some of my jw single female friends are in.
they are over 40 and have little work record, hardly any money and in some instances compromised health issues.
i am angry because these women were waiting for armageddon to come and save them.

Shes still "pioneering" and is close to 50 years old. She works as a waitress and lives paycheck to paycheck, lives alone, often breaks down in tears at the KH and has to be rushed into the back room and comforted. The other day my mom and she were out in service and she broke down, burst into tears and started blubbering. Can you believe my mothers advice to her was that she wasn't busy enough, and that she was allowing loneliness to overcome her, and that she needs to spend more time studying and in the field ministry!?
First off anonochan, I am sad for her.
In my current congregation, there are five single sisters, all pioneering for 20+ years. Four of them are in their 40's and one in her 50's. Never married. Very possible still virgins, though I never did ask .

Yeah, but what about Kingdom Halls where 3, 4, or even 5 congregations meet? You could have 300 people there on a Saturday morning in a Hall with capacity for 150. They'll have to continue with meeting in private homes on Saturdays.
That would be the ideal scenerio : five or six congregations with 300 publishers meeting at the KH on Saturday morning for field service.
However, I don't see an average of 50 or 60 from each congregation gathering together every Saturday. Maybe half per congregation is realistic. Home meetings for field service will be optional. Regard;ess. I see field service on the decline in terms of a large percentage of the congregation all meeting together on any particular day during the week....unless the CO is in town.
The CO will have to stay in one way, shape or form. Perhaps a title change. Perhaps less visits per year. Perhaps a substitute local elder. But the CO (aka Field Manager) will need to keep tabs on local congregations for reports back to headquarters. This is just like any major company.

The additional features available to logged-in users are for official communication with the local branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The branch office assigns these accounts. There is no provision for requesting a personal account.
From what I understand, users with valid login accounts for official communication are congregation secretaries who send in field service reports. This also applies to accounts servants who verifies wire-transfers from the congregation banking account to the WTS account, called electronic funds transfer. WT BOOKS - Clean out the literature room at the KH
by Alligator Wisdom infor those who are still active and have access in obtaining literature from the kingdom hall, would you do this?.
to just give away literature, especially books, from the literature desk to force printing.. in giving away literature, especially the costlier books than magazines, it will force the wts to print more and use up assets.
just give these books away at the doors.

Thanks everyone for your input and replies.
DON'T be leaving them out for the unsuspecting public and most of all college kids to find! What are you thinking?!
I thought about that and made a realization of HOW many in public will respond positively in opposed to how many will respond negatively with WT books lying all over the place. Sure, for some it will peak their curiosity and they will take some books home to check out. But for the vast majority, it will only create a heightened public nuisance. How do you feel and what do you think about with those flyers, pennysaver booklets, pizza ads and such behind your screen door, in telephone booths, under your windshield wipers and seeing them blowing in the wind in some parking lot?
This will also give the public a chance to research the WTS on the internet, both who take these books home and those who experience the litter.
Having the books go directly to recycling is a good idea too. But I was thinking of the WT corporation in a bad light with bad publicity.

Public Talk & Bookstudy Changes - the real reason
by bud2114 ini havn't been able to keep up with all the discussion in this forum as to why the gb has suddenly decided to implement these changes and perhaps someone has mentioned this already, but to me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.
it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.
i have been involved in the organzation for 40 yrs and i have never seen the level of apathy and disillusionment among those serving in some capacity in this organization.

Nice post!
I tend to agree with your thoughts in regards to the real reason of the change in the book study group arrangement.
I myself declined eldership twice (officially), and just a few months ago I declined it again when the service overseer asked if I had any change of thought in even considering being an elder.
The body of elders are too run down with paperwork, directives, procedure and policy. Nope, not for me. I don't want my hands tied!

To just give away literature, especially books, from the literature desk to force printing.
In giving away literature, especially the costlier books than magazines, it will force the WTS to print more and use up assets. Just give these books away at the doors. If you are working alone and don't want to raise suspicion, leave them behind on the doorsteps and at the laundry mats. When doing your personal errands, leave some Bibles in banks, some Bible Teach books in post offices, several Mankind's Search for God books in college lunchrooms and the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived on bus stops. Anywhere and everywhere! Not necessarily placing it with people, but just leaving it out and about.
It will make the WTS a nuisance and a cause for public outcry at the litter they leave everywhere.
By doing this, what will it force the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society to do?
